South Park rolls to 50-32 victory against Elizabeth Forward

South Park's offense wasn't at its best on Saturday, so the Eagles leaned on a stifling defense to win their third WPIAL title.
South Park was excellent defensively throughout and rolled to a 50-32 victory against Elizabeth Forward in the Class AAA girls championship game at Palumbo Center.
Halie Torris and Allison McGrath scored 13 points apiece for South Park (23-2), the No. 3 seed which finished as the runner-up last season.
Elizabeth Forward (23-3), the No. 5 seed, was led by Dana Buck's nine points. The Warriors had stunned No. 1 and previously undefeated Blackhawk in the semifinals. The Warriors were playing in their first WPIAL title game since 1990.
South Park limited Elizabeth Forward to just 23 percent (11 of 46) shooting and held the Warriors to four second-quarter points. South Park shot 35 percent (20 of 57) and led, 30-11, at halftime.
