Micah Mason, a Post-Gazette Fab 5 player at Highlands High School last season, intends to transfer closer to home after playing his freshman season at Drake in the Missouri Valley Conference.

Mason was fourth in NCAA Division I in 3-point shooting as a freshman, making 40 of 79 (50.6 percent). He finished the season averaging 5.4 points a game off the bench for Drake, which tied for seventh in the MVC.

He had a season-high 19 points against Eastern Illinois, a game in which he was 5 for 6 from 3-point range.
