Brentwood High School officials have not found any credence to charges by Monessen's boys basketball team that Brentwood students and players used racial slurs toward Monessen in a game Friday.

Brentwood issued a statement on its website, saying after the game "the district conducted an investigation and spoke to a number of district students and staff who attended the game. Nothing has been revealed to indicate racist comments were made."

Two Brentwood students came to the game dressed as bananas, but they have attended other athletic events dressed as bananas. When these students ran past the section where Monessen fans were seated, causing a disruption, Brentwood officials immediately ejected the students from the game.

Monessen coach Joe Salvino said some of his players contended some Brentwood players and fans directed racist comments toward them, but Salvino said he never heard them.
