Chassidy Omogrosso is only a sophomore at Blackhawk High School, but has already decided she wants to play basketball at Pitt.

Omogrosso, a point guard, has accepted a scholarship from Pitt and made a verbal commitment to the Panthers tonight.

Omogrosso is one of the top sophomores in the state. She is one of the leading scorers in the WPIAL this season, averaging 23.5 points a game. She averaged 19 as a freshman.

High school athletes can accept a scholarship from a college at any time, but can't sign a binding letter of intent until November of their senior year.
