The skinny: A 6-foot-4 junior, Buechel has developed into one of the top quarterbacks in the WPIAL this season, leading Montour to the WPIAL Class AAA championship game. An excellent athlete, Buechel has completed 61 percent of his passes for 2,085 yards and 24 touchdowns.
Last week: Buechel went 10 of 15 for 225 yards and four touchdowns to lead Montour to a 35-14 semifinal win against Mars.
• What do you think will be the most exciting part of playing at Heinz Field? Just running out of the tunnel with all my best friends.
• Who talks the most trash on the team? (Junior wide receiver/defensive back) Darren Massey. If he catches a touchdown or something, he'll tell someone about it.
• Is there anything that coach (Lou) Cerro does or says that you and the other guys joke with him about? A lot of the guys on defense yell out "Let's go defense" when they go out on the field. Coach tries to mock them, and it doesn't sound too good when he says it.
? Where are you going for Thanksgiving dinner? I think we're going to my aunt's house. We usually go there.
• Outside of eating, what's your favorite part of Thanksgiving? Just gathering at one house and seeing all of my family. It's just nice to sit down with the family.
• If you were trying out for American Idol, what song would you sing? (Laughs) I'd go with "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey.
• What do you usually order when you go to McDonald's? I get the Big Mac meal, no pickles.
• What's your all-time favorite video game? I'd say NCAA Football, the whole series.
• What was your first pet? I had a little guinea pig when I was young. His name was Buddy.
