Duquesne has now made the announcement official.

Jim Ferry will be named the next men's basketball coach at Duquesne.

A press conference is tentatively scheduled for 2 p.m Thursday in the A.J. Palumbo Center.

Ferry has coached Long Island University Brooklyn for the last 10 years in the Northeast Conference.

He has led the Blackbirds to the NEC championship and NCAA tournament for the last two years.

Ferry's team beat Robert Morris in the NEC title game this year to make a second straight appearance in the NCAA tournament.

His teams get up and down the floor quickly and play an up-tempo style on offense.
