Grove City College senior Bob McNees has been named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Year.
McNees, a graduate of Blackhawk High School, earned the honor after leading the PAC in goals (17), total points (35), and game-winning goals (7).
McNees was joined on the first team of the All-PAC men's team by two other graduates of PG West area high schools, Washington & Jefferson defender Travis Brown, a Beaver Area High School alumnus, and Bethany defender Greg Lani (Moon Area).
Also, two second-team selections are from district high schools, Washington & Jefferson midfielder Marc Clayton of Beaver and Waynesburg forward Dave Peters (Montour).
Meanwhile, on the women's side Washington & Jefferson defender Katie Orient, a Chartiers Valley grad, was named All-PAC first team and Montour grad Madison Manius, a forward at Washington & Jefferson, was a second-team choice.
Romasco an All-PSAC choice
Ambridge Area High School graduate Sarah Romasco has been selected to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Soccer All-Star Team.
Romasco, a freshman forward for Indiana University of Pennsylvnia, enjoyed a record-breaking rookie season for IUP. She joined four IUP teammates on the first team.
CV grad has run of success
Chartiers Valley graduate Marco Dozzi, a senior at Allegheny College, earned Runner of the Year honors in the North Coast Athletic Conference.
Dozzi won the NCAC meet with a time of 27:01. Moon Area graduate Matt Hoy, a sophomore at Allegheny College, finished 10th in the meet with a time of 27:49.
