District Roundup: Duquesne women down Flyers

Duquesne ended Dayton's win streak at 16 games last night in women's Atlantic 10 action at the Palumbo Center.

Kristi Little scored 26 points and handed out seven assists in leading Duquesne. Joselyn Chandler chipped in with 19 points.

The Dukes (10-8, 1-2) outrebounded the Flyers (16-3, 2-1), 45-30, and connected on 46.7 percent (28 of 60) of their field-goal attempts. Duquesne also hit on 7 of 16 3-point shots.

• Sade Logan scored 27 points in leading Robert Morris (8-9, 4-2 NEC) to a 77-57 win at Saint Francis (5-12, 2-4). ... Crystal Andrews scored 17 points in leading California (14-2, 1-0 PSAC West) to a 71-42 win against Clarion (10-6, 0-2). ... Allyson Clarke had 18 points and 11 rebounds as Geneva (13-2) beat visiting Thiel (6-8), 80-44.

District men

Washington & Jefferson (6-9, 3-2 PAC) guard Albert Varacallo scored a career-high 30 points, 20 in the first half, in leading the Presidents to a 92-63 victory against Waynesburg (6-9, 1-5) ... Saint Vincent (12-3) made 12 of 28 3-point attempts in winning at Grove City (10-6), 71-57. Joey Butler led Saint Vincent with 26 points. ... California (Pa.) made 54.2 percent of its field-goal attempts in a 70-60 PSAC West victory against visiting Clarion (8-8, 0-2). Ron Banks paced the Vulcans (10-4, 1-0) with 20 points. ... Mike Fisher scored 21 points as Penn State New Kensington (9-2, 8-0 Penn State University Athletic Conference) won at PS Brandywine (5-7, 4-2), 80-75. ... Chivas Whipple had 28 points and 14 rebounds as Point Park (11-8, 1-1) defeated visiting Daemen (10-7, 2-1), 84-75. ... Geneva (9-7) edged Thiel (6-8) behind Greg McDevitt's 21 points.
