Worried about unsafe cosmetics and wondering how to look beautiful without them? Tonight from 5:30 to 8:30, Women for a Healthy Environment, a Pittsburgh-based group dedicated to educating the public about environmental exposures that impact health, will host "FACE IT ... Healthy Beauty From the Inside Out."

The event at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens includes an information session, free makeup demonstrations, giveaways and vendor booths with safe and natural personal care products. Vendors include As I Am Naturals, Cherry Valley Organics, Duchess Marden, Jessa Blades Natural Beauty, Simple Sugars, Third Day Luxury Soaps and The Villa Shoppe.

Special guests are Jessa Blades, founder of Blades Natural Beauty, and Vanessa Green of the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics. Ms. Blades and Ms. Green will discuss toxins that lace everyday beauty products such as lipstick and powder and provide healthy alternatives.

"Every day, women are unknowingly applying chemicals when using personal care products, ranging from deodorant and shampoo to mascara and nail polish. FACE IT is a fun, easy way for women to learn about the safety risks of these products while discovering healthier alternatives to fit every style and every budget," says Michelle Naccarati-Chapkis, executive director of WHE.

To pre-register for FACE IT, visit www.womenforahealthyenvironment.org or call 412-420-2290. Cost is $25, and tickets can be purchased at the door.
