From Australia, Ptilotus 'Joey' has large, conical spikes of feathery flowers atop silver green foliage. -
Bailey Nurseries has introduced the 'Forty Heroes' rose to honor the crew and passengers of United Flight 93, which crashed in Shanksville, Somerset County. The deep yellow hybrid tea has a fruity fragrance and will be available at area nurseries. A donation from the sale of each 'Forty Heroes' rose will be made to the "Remember Me" Rose Garden Maintenance Fund, which finances the care of gardens in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Shanksville. The 'Forty Heroes' rose is from Bailey Nurseries. -
Modern day shrub roses, unlike most traditional rose varieties, do well when mixed with other flowering plants. 'Rainbow' Knock Out shrub roses, thrive even in partial shade.

Most of us have dodged a frost and hopefully, are heading toward more forgiving gardening weather.
