Can't you practically taste going to a farmers market and coming home with a heavy bag or three of bounty?
Perhaps you can after you look at these photographs, which the Post-Gazette's Larry "Dine Quixote" Roberts shot at the Farmers@Firehouse market in the Strip District.
Alas, while that market is one that has opened for this season, these photos were shot last September, when produce was at its peak.
We have a ways to go, but it won't be so long now -- not as long as it has been since most of the markets shut down around Thanksgiving.
We're proud to once again present the region's most comprehensive and up-to-date list of local farmers markets, as well as an interactive map to further assist you.
You can tear and save this list.
We'll also keep it posted all season long.
NOTE: THIS IS THE 2011 LIST. WE'LL UPDATE IT FOR 2012 THIS SPRING.
