Root liqueur hosts a cocktail competition, with $5 Root drinks, free appetizers and prizes, from 8 to 11 p.m. tomorrow at Bossa Nova, 123 Seventh St., Downtown. Area bartenders will compete to make the best drinks with this 80-proof spirit, inspired by Colonial root tea and made with essence of sassafras (artintheage.com).
