The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for Mullen's Bar and Grill on the North Shore after an inspector said she found several dead mice and more than 100 droppings scattered throughout the restaurant.
When the inspector visited the Federal Street restaurant on Tuesday, she found four dead mice in a bait box below the restaurant's dish machine and another dead mouse in a bait box near bulk flour and sugar bins kept in the basement, according to a report posted on the county website.
The reports says the inspector also spotted between 100 and 150 droppings below dish racks and others on parts of the kitchen floor, in a seldomly used microwave and in a basement utility room.
The health department has cited the restaurant for several pest problems in the past.
Supervisors working at the restaurant Wednesday night declined comment.
