Priscilla Presley was the teenage love and later wife of Elvis Presley, mother to their daughter, Lisa Marie, and an actress best known for the three "Naked Gun" movies and TV's long-running "Dallas" saga.
Now Ms. Presley is a jewelry designer.
On Friday Ms. Presley will launch the Priscilla Presley Jewelry Collection on QVC. Aimed at providing rock-star glam at affordable prices, the jewelry line is inspired by pieces from Ms. Presley's personal jewelry collection. Her collection is versatile enough to wear to the office or out on the town.
Ms. Presley first considered designing fine jewelry but felt the current economic situation called for more affordable fashion. She said it was challenging to design jewelry with the right weight and beauty that was reasonably priced.
Necklaces, earrings and rings are priced less than $100. Signature pieces include a pair of earrings with diamond teardrops hanging from diamond-encrusted Gothic crosses that resemble a pair of earrings she wore to a Graceland fundraiser, and a Byzantine-inspired cross pendant that reflects one of the many pendants Elvis gave her.
With jewelry, Ms. Presley believes less is more. An old rule she follows: You should wear no more than three pieces of jewelry at a time. A couple of statement pieces such as set of gorgeous earrings and a chunky ring is an appropriate way to accessorize.
She'll introduce her jewelry collection from 1 to 2 a.m. Friday on QVC. Pieces from the collection are available at www.qvc.com.
