Dorothy Frye Glasser could do it all -- cooking, baking, quilting. She even made her own clothes.

Her job was to clean other people's clothes -- at Monessen Laundry -- until the business burned to the ground. On Friday, she celebrated her 105th birthday, wearing red for Christmas, of course.

She was born on Dec. 16, 1906, on Linden Avenue in Monessen to Ira and Lela Reeves Frye. She attended Linden School and had two sons, who are both deceased. She is a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Monessen.

On her birthday, she celebrated with other residents of Havencrest Nursing Center in Monongahela, where she lives.
