Sara Tobias, 37, and Peter DiSanza, 33, wed on June 18, 2011. The couple currently resides in Arlington, Virginia.

Q: Who introduced you?

Sara: A friend of mine is also a good friend of Peter's sister and they conspired for many months to introduce us. But even after that happened on New Years Eve in 2006, it took us another four months to go out on our first date. As Melanie and Monica would say, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.

Q: Where did you each grow up?

Sara: I grew up in Plum Borough and Peter grew up in Erie. Even though Peter spent some time in Pittsburgh getting his undergrad degree from Robert Morris, we didn't meet until many years later when we were both living in the DC suburbs of Virginia.

Q: Who proposed? How?

Sara: I was visiting my parents in Pittsburgh and Peter came for a surprise visit with a dozen beautiful long-stemmed red roses. What made it so unexpected was that I had just gotten off the phone with him less than 5 minutes before and he hadn't given me any indication that he was about to walk through the door. I had no idea what was going on until my family scattered and Peter and I were alone in the kitchen and he got a look in his eyes and he started saying the sweetest things (none of which I could comprehend at the time because my heart was pounding too loudly), lowered down on one knee, and asked me to be his wife. Of course my immediate answer was, "Yes!"

Q: Where were you married? Why did you choose that site?

Sara: We were married at Our Lady of Joy Catholic Church in Plum Borough because that was the church that I attended growing up. A good friend of Peter's family, Fr. Michael Kesicki, performed our Catholic wedding service, so that helped make the ceremony personal for both of us.

Q: Where was the reception and honeymoon? Why did you choose those sites?

Sara: Our wedding reception was at the LeMont Restaurant on Mt. Washington and it was the best decision we made in planning our wedding. The food was excellent, the service impeccable, the atmosphere inside was warm and festive and the view of downtown Pittsburgh was breathtaking. The honeymoon was at the Sandals Grande in St. Lucia. It was the perfect combination of relaxing at the pool/on the beach and exploring the incredible beauty of the island.
