1952: MAD begins as part of the EC Comics line
1955: The image of Alfred E. Neuman debuts as MAD's official mascot .
1964: In response to Playboy's fold-out, MAD introduces its Fold-In.
1966: The MAD Show hits off-Broadway.
1973: The September edition that spoofed the movie "The Poseidon Adventure" is the top-selling issue ever.
1995: MAD TV, a sketch comedy, debuts on Fox .
2001: MAD goes all color and begins accepting ads.
2008: Fox cancels MAD TV after 14 seasons.
2008: The original Norman Mingo painting of Alfred E. Neuman sells at auction for $203,150, the highest price ever paid for a single piece of comic art.
2009: MAD goes quarterly, at the cover price of $5.99 (cheap!).
