Saturday Poem / On Sunday Afternoon
Share with others:
The library in _____ is a place I go
It's not in my hometown
And I have no good or bad memories
No scolding, no pressure to do a report
I'm at ease, and I'm all grown up
I search for a small book of fiction
Convenient for my trip to work on the T
A local author has drawn me here
On Sunday afternoon
A recommendation I committed
I found it, of course
I'm very good at the alphabet
Moving on to the videos
With their less respected organization
I smell Old Man, annoyed
He searches alongside me
Bearded and intent
I think about it as I flutter
Through the cases without a goal
Randomly, sometimes finding a gem
And I think about my old man, my dad
These three years gone
It's not annoying
He smelled like him long before
His scent was lost
