Why Catholic focus?

Having read the article on the views of Catholic officialdom on the presidential race ("For Local Catholics, How Issues Stack Up," Sept. 30), I am looking forward to your reporting with equal depth and prominence the opinions of Baptists, Presbyterians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Episcopalians, Seventh-Day Adventists, Sikhs, Unitarian Universalists, Buddhists, atheists and nonbelievers, and others reflective of the variety of worldviews held by people living in Pittsburgh.

Otherwise, it may appear that the Post-Gazette is serving as a mouthpiece for the Catholic hierarchy at a time when church attendance is in decline and believers increasingly cannot be counted on to fill the pews and hear the church's message.
