Which truth is it?

I'm sure the "pull quote" overlaid on your Nov. 8 lead editorial, "Obama's Triumph," was written hurriedly and someone forgot to add, in addition to grumpy, inflexible and Caucasian, that Republicans also should be considered the party of males, Christians and constitutional extremists. I wanted to make sure you included all the folks who aren't emotional, lighthearted, non-Caucasian reeds, who bend whichever way the wind blows.

If truth is only "my perception today, yesterday and tomorrow be damned," this election went well for America. If truth is unchanging, on the other hand, I think America and all it has stood for will be easy prey for the next demagogue or empire-builder who comes along.

I'm glad I'm a Republican who strives to hold onto the truth that all men receive their rights from the Creator. Maybe, just maybe, we've already been attacked by a demagogue!
