I would like to invite J.F. Brown ("For Park Enjoyment," Dec. 15 letters) and everyone else who has an idea, suggestion or a plan they would like to see implemented in the county's South Park to a citizens group that meets once a month to discuss, plan and find ways to raise funds for these exact ideas.

The Friends of South Park is a group of citizens from various municipalities who meet with the parks director, the director of the parks foundation, a member of county council and local officials and present their mission of preserving the rich heritage and resources of South Park by identifying and recommending the areas of the park that need improvement, and then working to acquire the cooperation, resources and funding to accomplish those improvements for the benefit of the park's visitors.

The next meeting of The Friends of South Park is Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 6 p.m. at the Buffalo Inn. The inn is located right across the street from the oval just behind the county police station. The parking lot is right in front and well lit. If anyone has a suggestion or an idea with time to volunteer for various activities throughout the year, please come to the meeting. The door is always open to new members and new ideas.
