War on coal or us?

Rep. Tim Murphy bemoans the so-called "war on coal." What about the war on coal miners? Mining companies use up these workers and then discard them. What about the war on our lungs? Coal-fired power plants poison us with ozone and mercury.

What about the war on our environment? Mountain-top removal and long-wall mining permanently ruin our water, air and land just to enrich the wealthy.

Rep. Murphy's support of Big Coal is all too predictable; he and his party never saw a fossil fuel company they did not want to serve.

Let's stop the war on U.S. citizens. Convert fossil fuel tools of destruction into green energy production using wind turbine blades, geothermal pipes and solar panels made in Pennsylvania. Experts agree we can produce all the electricity we need using today's home-grown sustainable technologies.
