Victimized twice

Regarding rape victim Sara Reedy ("Cranberry's Insurer Approves $1.5 Million Settlement Over Arrest," Dec. 17): This was very poor reporting of an event. It should be stressed that David Cercone, a George W. Bush-appointed conservative judge, knew that Ms. Reedy had been raped with a gun to her head. Nevertheless, his opinion was that she had no right to pursue her lawsuit because she didn't act like a rape victim.
This twisted conservative logic was overturned by the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. I find it frightening that, using Judge Cercone's twisted logic, any female who files a police report alleging she was raped risks imprisonment if she doesn't act like a rape victim.
