Use remaining campaign money for Sandy victims

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, something seems so terribly out of place in this country right now: Politics and campaigning.

There is a huge election in a few days, but it doesn't seem as important anymore. This campaign season has been unusually long and expensive. But now many Americans face something else that will be terribly long and expensive -- recovering from the storm and rebuilding their homes and lives.

So, Mr. Romney and President Obama -- and all other political candidates -- I have a proposal for you: Effective immediately, let's declare this campaign season officially over and agree to contribute all remaining campaign funds to help all the people touched by the storm's devastating path of destruction.

All politics aside, we have more important work to do now.
