Unnecessary hunger

This is in response to Tony Norman's column on the food line ("Relocating Food Line Would Be the Wrong Move," Oct. 2). Thank you, Mr. Norman. On so many levels, the line does not seem right.
Just the existence of the line is wrong, especially when we live in an abundant country, and also the way the people are served. The line serves people out in the open and gives no shelter from the elements. Where is the dignity in that? But maybe that is the point.
The food line makes what is invisible visible. And that probably makes some people uncomfortable to openly see people who are indigent. My only fear is that I think the line will grow even greater due to the current administration policies in Harrisburg.
