Twisted politics

Sigh . . . It's still a long time until November and this presidential campaign -- on both sides---- is really weighing on me. All the nastiness and ugliness, total lies, partial lies, being told by both parties, saying anything to demonize the other side -- this is not what campaigning should be like.

I have a piece of advice for all voters: There's a multitude of fact-checking websites out there; utilize them to determine the truth. I remember Johnny Carson doing a bit every so often wherein a guest would recite a paragraph or so. Then, Carson would illustrate how that statement could be spun to make it "say" whatever you would want just by judicious editing. When he did that, it was funny.

But it's not funny when the opposing sides are doing it during a campaign and the future of our country is, now more than ever, dependent on the veracity of the candidates and their spokespersons.
