Given that his first major vote was to deny aid to the victims of Superstorm Sandy, the Republicans of the 12th Congressional District must be pleased beyond all belief with their new congressman, Keith Rothfus. They now know for certain that they sent to Washington a man who truly has their mean-spirited and uncaring values.
As his brilliant TV commercials said: "He's a regular guy. He takes his kids to school. He fixes things!" And when hundreds of thousands of his fellow American citizens are facing the greatest crisis of their lives, he turns his back.
To be fair, Mr. Rothfus did promise to pray for those suffering. His GOP supporters should pray that if an unthinkable catastrophe should ever strike their communities, that the rest of America is better than they and their representative are.
