The tanning tax
Share with others:
Gov. Mitt Romney is absolutely right. President Barack Obama and Sen. Bob Casey don't know a thing about business or what drives the economy. It is a fact that you don't raise taxes in a bad economy like Mr. Obama and Sen. Casey did. Mr. Obama broke his campaign promise not to raise taxes on anyone making less than $250,000 a year when he and Mr. Casey enacted a 10 percent tax on tanning salons, which is expected to raise $1.5 billion over the next 10 years.
First, a lot of young women own these salons and now they are responsible for the paperwork and for collecting and remitting this tax to the government. Second, it will be mainly young women paying this tax, and that means $1.5 billion less going into the economy.
The clear choice for president is Mitt Romney, and for senator, Tom Smith.
