The party of reality

One party chose a "get-out-the-vote" strategy, and it won. The other party chose a "keep-out-the-vote" strategy and was defeated.

One party is reality-based, paying attention to shifting demographics and to scientific data on climate change. The other party stands with palms out, like King Canute, waist deep in the rising tides of demographic and climate changes.

One party deals in facts and science, working on practical issues and facing toward the future. The other party deals in emotion and ideology, focusing on the "other" people who lack values and want free handouts and holding on to an idealized version of the past.

Which party is better prepared to lead?
