The fix is in

So President Barack Obama has named Wall Street apologist Tim Geithner as his chief "negotiator" in the current budget talks ("As Fiscal Cliff Nears, Tough Budget Talks Start," Nov. 17). Clearly, the fix is in for deep cuts in Medicare, Medicaid and other social programs in direct defiance of the electorate that returned Mr. Obama to office.

This disgrace will be presented as a "balanced" agreement because of a partial rescission of Bush tax cuts that had no justification in the first place.

Only an immediate and massive mobilization of working people in protest can stop this latest great betrayal by the Democratic Party.

Where is the anti-colonial Kenyan socialist now that we need him?
