You all know how tragic the events of Sunday at the Pittsburgh zoo were. To the parents with young children: Let this be a wakeup to all of you out there in the world; bad things can happen in the blink of an eye. Seen and unseen tragedies are waiting to happen. You must be diligent in parenting and be aware of your surroundings. I know some things are not preventable, but this tragedy certainly was.

Now this poor mother must live with the haunting memories of her child being mauled to death right in front of her. I'm not here to point fingers at anybody. But I write this to remind all parents, babysitters, guardians, day care workers, teachers or anyone who has contact with a child to please be careful with the little ones in your care. Because in the blink of an eye your world could come crashing down around you.
