Testing is part of the war on public schools
Share with others:
Pennsylvania school leaders need to stop complaining about Education Secretary (but no degree in education) Ron Tomalis and his ridiculous Pennsylvania System of School Assessment cheating hypothesis.
Be real and tell the public that Pennsylvania students will never hit federal adequate yearly progress targets because No Child Left Behind and all the corporate education reforms that have been implemented in the last 15 years were never about improving education. The entire system was designed to create the appearance of a failing public school system.
Explain that the state has all intentions of handing over local public schools to private educational management organizations and doing away with locally elected school boards. Let the public know that their tax dollars will be handed over to organizations and political action committees that have made major campaign contributions to Gov. Tom Corbett. Help the public understand that this is not about test scores. This is about a war.
This war targets one of the foundations of our democracy -- public education. Pennsylvania school leaders need to stop whining and start leading!
