Regarding "Environmental Groups Urge Corbett to Revamp Pennsylvania DEP's Process for Water Testing," Nov. 14: Why is the Pennsylvania government working against most of the people it is supposed to be serving? Look at a list of our leaders' recent actions regarding fracking:

• disallowing local communities and residents to determine whether they want to gamble their health and the health of their land and water for gas revenues;

• purposefully hiding pertinent information from already-in-hand test results;

• adding costs through unnecessary bureaucracy to keep locals in the dark about the water they drink;

• not allowing experts to discuss facts and test results with the people whose health and livelihood they know to be endangered -- facts that may save their lives and way of life.

It is one thing to take actions for the greater good of society. It is quite another to undertake deliberate efforts to hide the truth as the Corbett administration continues to do.
