South Side help

I hope the plan by Pittsburgh officials to make the South Side "people friendly" works. I know that Mayor Luke Ravenstahl and city Councilman Bruce Kraus put a lot of work into it.

I'm a 70-year-old grandmother whose partying days are long gone, but I have a 21-year-old grandson in college who parties with the South Side crowd. I constantly preach when he goes out. I'm sure it falls on deaf ears.

I can attest to the public urination and beer cans on the sidewalk from people who have left the bar at the corner. I know better than to try and get a good night's sleep on Friday and Saturday nights.

With all of the city officials who are working on this plan, it should be a success.
