This is in response to the Feb. 18 article "Schools Chief Sees Room for Growth."
The article talks about what Pittsburgh Public Schools Superintendent Linda Lane "thinks," what she "feels," what she "believes," what she "knows" and what she "wishes." It also says that she is "passionate" and that she called her job a "privilege."
None of those things are relevant to the quality of the Pittsburgh Public Schools.
It's not until the article's 14th paragraph that anything of substance is reported. Specifically, that paragraph states, "Most schools saw their scores drop in reading, math or both, with some experiencing double-digit dips in the percentage of students proficient or advanced on both tests."
Instead of calling the article "Schools Chief Sees Room for Growth," you should have called it "Reading and Math Scores in Pittsburgh Public Schools Fall Substantially."
