Russian orphans

Shame, shame, on Russian President Vladimir Putin. Politicizing the Russian orphan situation is such a tragedy. Not granting Russian children currently living in orphanages the opportunity to become adopted by would-be U.S. parents ready and able to offer these kids stable, loving and secure home environments is clearly a demonstration of insensitive and irresponsible behavior on his part.
Simply put, these children have a right as human beings to live the life that they deserve. Perhaps Mr. Putin is angry about other U.S. matters of contention bearing on him and his country: for one, the U.S. law banning Russian citizens accused of human rights violations from entering our country. But don't take it out on these innocent young ones, Mr. Putin. Vent your anger on other concerns.
Show us your reasonable and sensitive side, Mr. Putin. Encourage Russia's parliament to abolish the ban on adoption of Russian orphans by U.S. parents. To paraphrase a quote by a character from the Charles Dickens novel "A Tale of Two Cities," "It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done." So, just go and do it.
