Here we go again. The absolute truth comes out of someone's mouth (OK, a conservative's mouth) and they get hammered with the ol' "you can't say that" response.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with what Mitt Romney said, and probably even some portion of Barack Obama voters would agree with the facts of his statement. Even some union voters being told to vote for Mr. Obama probably feel that too many people are expecting a free ride and don't deserve it; same with some of the elderly "Medi-scared voters" (those falling prey to the Democrats' Medicare scare tactics). Or at least they would agree with Mr. Romney's statement if they weren't immediately convinced by the liberal media that it was an inappropriate statement that cannot be allowed to be put forth for discussion.

But instead of focusing on the details of why so many are getting a free ride and looking for ways to address the problem, we allow the pro-Obama media to turn the discussion into how mean the person who stated it must be -- so don't vote for him. This approach also keeps the focus off Mr. Obama's failures with the economy and the fact that he has absolutely nothing positive to put forward in his re-election bid.

So let's all feel good about the substantial increases in the number of people getting a free ride on us. Look out, Greece, here we come!
