Robo-rebellion

On the Saturday, Sunday and Monday before the election, my phone was beset with Republican-inspired robo-calls ... at least 40.

The return number was not reachable, so I could not complain; they found a loophole that I hope can be closed before the next election and they cunningly withheld the number from which they dialed me; that number did not appear on my caller ID, only a nonoperating one.

My response when I went to vote was to abandon my usual practice of selecting candidates individually, and for the first time, I voted a straight Democratic ticket! I told those at the polling place what I had done and the reason, and the mostly Republican volunteers did not appreciate me.

If my method were to be adopted by other voters, this would be a way to stop these useless robo-calls.
