Prominent backers

The article "Presbyterian Divestment Vote Riles Jewish Leaders" (June 28) mentions "how deeply the Jewish community is united against divestment," but it is a pity that the article failed to highlight the many Jewish and Israeli voices that do favor divestment and the BDS movement in general.

Prominent Jewish Israelis have endorsed the call for boycott, divestment and sanctions of their own country, including historian Ilan Pappe and the late Tanya Reinhart, Israeli professors Kobi Snitz(Ben-Gurion University) and Rachel Giora(Tel Aviv University), filmmaker Haim Bresheeth ("State of Anger"), philosopher Moshe Machover, Jonatan Stanczak (co-founder of the Jenin Freedom Theatre) and many other authors, activists and cultural figures. Many of these Israelis are part of Boycott from Within, a group in Israel that seeks to mobilize support for BDS inside the Jewish State.

The Israeli groups Who Profits and the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions support boycott and divestment, as do a number of international groups including Jewish Voice for Peace and the International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network. So where is the fairness and accuracy in reporting?
