Privatize your job

Hey, Lt. Gov. Jim Cawley, regarding your letter "Next Super Bowl Let's Buy Beer at the Grocery Store," Feb. 3, about selling off the state liquor stores, wouldn't it also be really great if you pledged to take the same percentage cut in your pay and in your family's insurance that all the current employees end up taking if they are privatized? That pledge would be great. It would truly show just how much you believe in and support your decision to privatize.

It would really show just how much trust you would have in the aggressive efforts the state will take to find comparable jobs for displaced employees. You could sell some of our stores to the Germans -- they really know beer. You already sold our lottery to the English. That's great. And you could sell some of our stores to the French -- they really know wine.

Oh, and it's also really great that you and the governor have so consistently shown just how much you truly do care about supporting education in our state. That's great.
