Press coverage shortchanges the Pirates

I am concerned about the lack of support the Pirates are getting from the media in this area. They are continually being upstaged by news concerning either the Steelers or the Penguins.

The Steelers season doesn't start until August and the Penguins not until October. Yet when the Penguins extended Sidney Crosby's contract, a large picture of him appeared in the middle of the sports page.

I am not putting the Steelers and the Penguins down, but everyone must remember that before these two teams even got close to a championship game, the Pirates had already won four World Series and a good number of division titles.

Let's support the Pirates -- not just after they win but also after a loss because that's when they need it the most. I have been a Pirates supporter all my life, win or lose.
