Pa. suffers from lack of leadership, not gridlock

So our esteemed Gov. Tom Corbett now has in hand the findings and recommendations of another of his assembled commissions, the Advisory Commission on Postsecondary Education ("Higher Ed Road Map for Pa. Links Funding to Performance," Nov. 15). Its findings will likely spur the same inaction and indecision as those of his Transportation Funding Advisory Commission.

While our crumbling infrastructure continues to inhibit the growth and prosperity of commerce, our higher education system grows more inaccessible and less affordable.

Unlike Washington, where the gridlock of the warring parties drives the country to the brink of fiscal collapse, Pennsylvania spirals downward through economic attrition brought about by lack of leadership.
