My Pirates win

On Sept. 9, I attended the Pirates game at PNC Park and was expecting it to be just another day at the ballpark. However, I was surprised how touched I felt while I was watching kids at the ballgame with their grandparents. Since it was Grandparents Day the stadium was filled with little ones who were happy to be with their grandparents, and directly in front of me was a teenager who was proud to be with her grandparents.

I never really had a chance to get to know my grandparents, so I can only imagine the joy that I would have felt.

In addition to that, I thought it was moving to see the family of a fallen soldier being escorted onto the field and the most excited person in that group appeared to be his little boy. Following that I heard the song "God Bless America" being sung by talented performers.

So it might have been a loss for the Pirates, but it was a win for me!
