My heart belongs to Pittsburgh

As the holiday season approaches, and especially with Thanksgiving upon us, I am reminded of the many blessings to be thankful for. This time of year reminds me of the wonderful holiday memories of growing up back "home."
One of my fondest blessings is having the opportunity of growing up in wonderful Pittsburgh (West Mifflin). My heart is filled with so many precious times. The people who are a part of that great city are in the forefront of those memories.
I believe there is a special bond between hometown folk that makes them so treasured and thought of often, not only at the holidays. If a certain song is played on the radio that reminds me of one of my friends and my hometown, I get an instant smile on my face and a warm feeling (and, I must say, homesick, too!).
I have lived in South Florida for more than 37 years, and when I have an opportunity to go home to visit my family and friends, my heart races with excitement! And, once there, it is as though I have never moved away. I always feel so welcome in my friends' and my family members' homes. They make my family and me feel very special.
Many years have passed since I lived in Pittsburgh, but once back home and sitting at a kitchen table with a longtime friend enjoying a cup of coffee with one another, it seems as though it were only yesterday.
I am so proud of my hometown, my awesome family and my wonderful friends. Pittsburgh will always be my Camelot!
Wishing all of my friends and family a blessed holiday season and my love to all.
