My agenda is all about the issues of families here

The term "Representative" isn't just a job title; it's a job description. That's why my agenda comes from the issues that matter to the families of southwestern Pennsylvania.

Following that approach, we've seen positive change for our communities like saving the 911th Air Reserve base. As chairman of the Congressional Steel Caucus, I've worked to boost local manufacturers and steelmakers by holding China accountable for cheating in the global marketplace. On the other hand, my opponent, Washington County Commissioner Larry Maggi, has said he doesn't think we can do much about China's illegal currency manipulation.

In fact, instead of offering ideas to grow our economy or strengthen Medicare, the Post-Gazette editorial board said my opponent gives "fuzzy suggestions and pat answers." PolitiFact has called his misleading "Medi-scare" attack "the Lie of the Year," and WPXI rated his campaign commercial as "false."

What is true is that I introduced the Social Security and Medicare Protection Act to stop Congress and the administration from raiding the trust funds, and I authored a groundbreaking law that expands access to affordable, life-saving generic medications for our seniors.

On Tuesday, I trust voters will consider what I've done to serve our veterans, grow local jobs, cut spending and strengthen Medicare.

And after raising property taxes by 22 percent, watching his own pay go up by 22 percent and leaving Washington County with a $5 million deficit, the voters can get a good sense what Commissioner Maggi has done and what he would do in the future.
