More rhetoric

Well, now that the election is over and the left has gotten its wish -- another four years of President Barack Obama in the White House -- Mr. Obama has not wasted any time showing his true colors. Just review what has happened since Nov. 6.

The White House has proposed $1.7 trillion in new taxes, on top of the 21 new taxes that will soon be imposed under Obamacare, along with another stimulus involving massive increases in spending. But wait. Didn't the president promise middle class tax cuts and reining in the deficit in the campaign? It is clear that his entire campaign was the worst example of political rhetoric -- the salesmanship of empty words. And now we will all pay for it.

As for the American electorate, it has behaved like a battered spouse; no matter how many times it is fooled, lied to and abused, it keeps coming back for more. The "Audacity of Hope" is looking a lot more like the "Audacity of Arrogance and Lies."
