While reviewing the RealClearPolitics.com ongoing tracking poll regarding the direction the country is taking, letter writer Chris Hutchinson ("The Wrong Track," Sept. 13) apparently failed to notice the ongoing tracking polls for the 2012 presidential race cited on that website.

All but one national poll reported on RealClearPolitics.com since Sept. 10 have President Barack Obama ahead of Gov. Mitt Romney. Furthermore, the RealClearPolitics poll average of the presidential race has President Obama leading by 3.5 percent.

This suggests that while a majority of those polled think America is on the wrong track, a minority of those polled feel Gov. Romney would do a better job than President Obama of putting America back on the right track.
