Many in the community support divestment

The Post-Gazette's report on the biannual meeting by the Presbyterian General Assembly in Pittsburgh to discuss divestment from firms that contribute to Israel's policies of continued occupation and settlement of Palestinian land ("Presbyterian Divestment Vote Riles Jewish Leaders," June 28) gives the impression that the Jewish constituency is united in its opposition to such a policy. This is not the case. A delegation from the Jewish Voice for Peace, which supports the boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement, will attend the assembly.

Many members of Jewish and other communities recognize the hypocrisy of protesting the peaceful BDS agenda while Israel enforces the most savage policy of boycott, divestment and sanctions against the destitute population of Gaza.
