Lost a good thing

My reaction to the Jan. 28 article "Catholic Schools Launch an Outreach Association" is what a joke! People of my generation and those before and after me are well aware of the values and standards imparted by Catholic schools and their teachers. We knew this 15 to 20 years ago, but the powers that be "Downtown" were more interested in saving money and/or converting school buildings into senior citizen apartments where they could coerce the residents into including the church in their wills.

Now with egg on its face, the Diocese of Pittsburgh is realizing that it had a good product, then lost it, and is now trying to get it back by spending more money.
