In a Dec. 6 Perspectives piece, "Hanukkah, a Festival of Freedom," Katrina Lantos Swett and M. Zuhdi Jasser, the chair and a commissioner of the U. S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, write of different groups having their religious freedom violated -- one of them being Catholics who resist government control over their affairs.
On the facing page was Rob Rogers' cartoon of a maniacal-looking Pope Benedict XVI tweeting about how great it is to be able to spread his 15th century views on gays, women and contraception.
Rob Rogers and the Post-Gazette, in general, seem to love to mock the conservatives who stand up for traditional values even when they are respectful of people with non-traditional values.
If the subject of the cartoon had been an Islamic leader, would Mr. Rogers and the Post-Gazette be worried about a Benghazi-type retaliation?
